Who We Are
The Make It Well is an independent, private practice whose bricks and mortar are myself, Jessica Wilkes.
I am a registered Counsellor (ACA) and Creative Arts Therapist (ANZACATA) with a teaching and Visual Arts background, dedicated to offering genuine, non-judgemental spaces of deep listening in a whole-person sense. I have experience with individuals with diverse presentations and requirements, including stress management, anxiety, depression; Alcohol and Other Drug dependency, trauma; existential, life-stage and identity concerns; internal and relational disconnect and individuals who are seeking to clarify and move with greater intention on their life-path.
I am honoured and humbled to stand alongside those who seek counsel; witnessing their courage, strength and vulnerability as they move towards and through discomfort, into the comfort of empowered, conscious, embodied presence.
Moving with the needs and preferences of the individual, my practice is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness Compassion based approaches. I work through a trauma informed lens, and offer psycho-education including practical emotional/ whole-system regulation tools and skills, to support the integration of clients’ therapeutic work into their daily lives.
The modalities I offer are supported by Masters, Graduate Diploma, Honours and Pranayama (Breath-work in the Yogic tradition) Teacher qualifications, alongside my own lifelong practices including yoga, breath-work and meditation (in various traditions), creative practice, self-reflection and a deep affinity with nature.
